Bastion is our all-new centre channel speaker, designed to complement the performance of our acclaimed Quarter Wave loudspeakers, Harlech S2 and Howard S3, when these are used in AV or home cinema systems. Remembering that, at any given moment, up to 80% of the sound information generated within such a system can be passed through the centre channel, we had to be sure that the Bastion would stand its ground amid such potent neighbours.

Accordingly, we equipped it with two 130mm diecast chassis bass units, each with woven carbon fibre cone material, Kapton voice coil former and copper coated aluminium wiring. To this, using a crossover furnished with only top grade, audiophile components, selected for their sonic quality, we added our own 28mm soft dome HF unit. This tweeter, the same as used in the Harlech and Howard, greatly helps to maintain the seamless continuity of high frequencies across the sound stage, while the optimally tuned reflex enclosure, constructed in 18mm MDF, ensures that this centre channel packs plenty of punch. As with all the latest Castle designs, the Bastion's front baffle has a smooth, radiused edge, and comes in a choice of eight real wood veneers. So, for the last word in AV performance, Bastion makes it game, set and match.
