The Compact Di–Pole greatly enhances the overall flexibility of the Compact package of speakers, allowing a wide range of installation solutions whether in 5.1 or 7.1 configurations. In many homes the “classic” 4 satellites plus Centre and sub simply does not work due to the shape of the room and or the position of the screen. In these cases the Compact Di–Pole can overcome the vast majority of these problems ensuring that you get the full benefit from the surround sound system you have.
To achieve this, the Compact Di–Pole is essentially two satellites in one speaker, housing as it does two tweeters and two bass mid units. The Di–Pole cabinet is separated into two unique chambers each with a pair of drive units (tweeter and bass unit) and two crossovers. To ensure the correct dispersal patterns these two crossovers are slightly different in design hence the Compact Di–Pole is supplied in handed pairs. The Di–Pole is designed to be mounted on the side walls at a height of between 2 and 3 meters ( 6 to 9 feet) and can be used to replace the rear satellites in a standard 5.1 set up or in addition to the rear satellites in a 7.1 configuration. The use of exactly the same drive units in the Di–Pole as found in the Satellites and Centre LCR ensures that whatever configuration you chose there will be exact timbre matching throughout the system.
